A hero, who saved me and you.

Exquisite watercolour illustrations combine with rhyming text to create a picture book that, while perfect for parents and teachers to share with children, is also guaranteed to touch the heart of every adult..
This book starts off by sharing a description of Anzac Bear with illustrations that tell the tale of an old bear who has seen many a day, and has witnessed many a tale. Although the words are sad, you can sense the love that is also within the words as they come from a little boy who obviously loves his bear. As you read through the book, the illustrations take on a different look. They tell of a time long since past where our Anzacs (and Ted) were an important part of our history and like the Anzacs, Ted never gave up. Despite being battered and torn, he is a hero.
I love this book. It speaks of what is important, and not all the bells and whistles that have become a part of our every day life. It speaks of our heroes and how sometimes you need to look beyond what the eye can see.
