I had been wanting one of these for a wee while now – Though I was always hesitant, to me the idea of a tiny blade – at the bottom of a long drink bottle, seemed silly. I imagine it being just another money making scheme somewhat similar to the Magic Bullet. HOWEVER I had the opportunity to use one of these that a friend owned, and from then on – I was sold. It blends, so well. While sometimes it does get a bit tricky when over loaded, or if theres no liquid added; it blends virtually everything. I’ve┬ásince purchased my own one at a low price of $49.99, and was stoked that it came with two drink bottles and lids – so to start with, you don’t need to purchase any extras, Although I did purchase a pink bottle for $12.99 also. Since owning this, I’ve made so many smoothies; and have also discovered it useful for other things too (Basil pesto, breadcrumb, frozen sorbet etc). I’m not a big morning eater, so being able to make a smoothie for breakfast – snap a bottle lid on, and just drink it – is so handy. It definitely pays to peel apples, warm frozen berries (i just hold them under hot water for a bit), and put the liquid/soft foods in last. However the instruction book tells you exactly the same, so I guess the instruction book for once – is actually useful! It comes with a recipe book for some smoothie recipes, however I’ve enjoyed mixing and creating my own favourite combinations. I give this machine a 10/10 – it’s so cheap, so useful, blends so well – and the smoothies are devine. Thanks George Foreman – Another good, reliable product; that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg to buy!

Recently I decided to jump on the juice/smoothie bandwagon. I looked into various machines to find the perfect one for me, I was amazed at the prices of some of them! Along the way I stumbled onto the George Foreman Mix & Go. After doing a lot of research and reading lots of reviews I made the decision to purchase one. I only had to wait a few days for it to arrive and had my first smoothie made with 5 minutes of the courier dropping of the box!
I was slightly disappointed that there was no recipes included with my instructions, however it heaps this has since been rectified by the company (and I was able to find the new booklet including recipes online). I was a little sceptical about whether or not this little machine would be able to turn carrots, apples or even frozen berries into a smooth drink, however I soon discovered that there wasn’t much that this little machine couldn’t liquefy!
My kids love banana based smoothies – banana, yoghurt, frozen berries, kiwifruit, peaches the list is endless! On a hot day adding a small scoop of ice-cream makes for a cool, refreshing treat.
I have experimented with all sorts of flavours and have been amazed at the results – spinach, banana and orange is my favourite.
I love that it came with 2 bottles, and also the ability to drink straight from the same bottle you made your drink in!
I have been using my Mix & Go for about 5 months now and it still gets used at least once a day. It’s a great machine and a great price.
