Movieworld is another favourite in that it has some amazing rides (Superman is my favourite) but also has some great areas for the younger members of your family. If you manage to time things well, you have the opportunity to meet some of your favourite characters and pose for a photo with them. That’s always great for the photo album and to look back on. In the past we’ve been really impressed with the characters, they seem to appreciate that some little ones are afraid of such big ‘people’ they don’t know and we’ve watched while characters approach at the childs level and from a distance, rather than just ‘appear’ and scare the heck out of them.
Another thing I love at Movieworld is that they have covers overtop so if it’s a bit wet, or a bit too sunny, you have a cover to help combat whatever the weather throws at you. Ok a wet day might mean rides are out, but there are so many other things to be done that you wont get bored.
The Stunt Show is pretty amazing, and leaves you wondering how on earth they can drive like that. So well synchronised and a lot of fun to watch, but it can be hot, so it pays to get there early and get a good seat under cover.
The rides are pretty good. As already said earlier, Superman is my favourite ride of ANY of the rides in the Theme Parks, but I also really enjoy the Wild West Falls Adventure ride. Not so much of a thrill ride, but still well put together and a lot of fun. And, if it’s a hot day, it’s a great way to cool down.
Scooby Doo I found a bit too jolty and Arkham Asylum, while a little different from when it was Lethal Weapon, still manages to throw you round a bit. Green Lantern, well that was an experience. To be honest I was more concerned about falling out of my top, to enjoy the ride. I didn’t find it as much of a thrill as it looks but still an ok ride.
Like anywhere, the park have to be aware of safety on their rides, and making sure that things go off without a hitch so if you check out their website, you can find out if your favourite ride is working or not

I really do enjoy Movieworld. It’s a fun day out and there are a lot of different things to see and do for all ages. If you love rides, you’ll love the park, if you love the likes of Tweety, Sylvester or your favourite superhero, then you’re also going to love it. And the kids Warner Bro’s Kid Zone is going to be one that the little ones are going to LOVE
We always try and head over when it’s not holidays. That way the queues are ‘generally’ shorter and you get a lot more fun for your money. Otherwise you really cans seem to spend most of your days lining up for things.
If you’re like us, and love all things Warner Bros, then make sure you take spending money as there are so many opportunities for purchases and gifts for family back home.
Finding it – Getting there is easy no matter how you plan to travel. It’s well sign posted and not too far from the Gold Coast.
Food – well like any Theme Park, the food is going to be more expensive than going to your local take away, and the last meal I bought there, I didn’t even eat half of it so that was a bit disappointing.
Overall Rating from me ?
8/10 – Great place to visit
Is it suitable for families ?
YES !! 9/10 Kids (and big kids) will love it.
