Paddington

Paddington tells the story of the comic misadventures of a young Peruvian bear who travels to the city in search of a home.

Finding himself lost and alone, he begins to realize that city life is not all he had imagined -until he meets the kindly Brown family who read the label around his neck that says “Please look after this bear. Thank you,” and offer him a temporary haven. It looks as though his luck has changed until this rare talking bear catches the eye of a museum taxidermist. The film features an entirely computer-generated bear who interacts with a cast of esteemed actors.

Firstly we want to say thank you for the opportunity to review Paddington, he has been a favourite in our home as she watches all the old series (both cartoon and stuffed toy versions)
So on arrival, you can imagine the excitement when paddingtons face popped on the dvd cover out the envelope and immediately she wanted to pop it in the player(which we could not)
Anyways, when we finally got to watch it, we were really pleased… The story is very much the start of Paddingtons journey from when he was a young bear to how he ended up in London. We loved that it gave some background as to how a bear ended up living with the Browns in the City.

It follows Paddington as he searches for a place to call home and a family who will accept him. We loved the little touches seen throughout the movie to make it look somewhere between reality and make believe… so many beautiful things to see and experience. Nicole Kidman played a villain which she did brilliantly and the cast were all great in their roles.

Overall a wonderful movie for the kids. As adults you may be expecting more to the story, so don’t… from what i can tell, there has to be a Paddington 2 onwards and this one is just the start. Definitely worth a watch for the Paddington fans or those who want to introduce their kiddies to it…. Abigail stayed glued and she wants to watch it again and again.
