Barkers Lite Rhubarb with Raspberry and Rosehip Fruit Syrup

Barker’s of Geraldine is one of New Zealand’s favourite home-grown family businesses. Based in Geraldine, South Canterbury, the Barker family has been crafting delicious fruit preserves, chutneys and syrups for over six generations.

Barkers-of-Geraldine-Logo-Hi-resEstablished on the family farm in 1969 by inventor Anthony Barker who, after learning his mother’s skills for preserving fruit, went on to develop a successful cottage industry with a wild elderberry wine as his first product. This was followed by blackcurrant liqueurs, syrups, fruit spreads, jams, marmalades, chutneys, pickles and savoury sauces.

Barker’s products are available from supermarkets throughout New Zealand. If you can’t find what you’re looking for in-store, just visit their website www.barkers.co.nz and place an order online. Next time you are visiting Geraldine, remember to stop by the iconic Barker’s shop, where you can sample the entire range of products, purchase gift baskets and send products all over the world.

Barker’s of Geraldine has added two unique fruit flavour blends to its fruit syrups range.  Both flavours use the natural sweetness of the stevia plant to satisfy consumer’s not-so-sweet taste buds.

The innovative additions include the Lite Rhubarb with Raspberry and Rosehip, which has a stunning rhubarb blush colour and delicate flavour offering another sophisticated flavour option to current Barker’s fans.

Lite Rhubarb with Raspberry and Rosehip: a refined flavour and is delicious as a non-alcoholic alternative simply served with sparkling water or used as a fruit cocktail mixer. The bonus is it’s also low calorie. Whether featured in a refreshing cocktail or as part of a baking creation, the colour and flavour have great appeal.

  1. Have just tried the Rhubarb with Raspberry and Rosehip drink and oh my, YUM! I love that you can taste both the Rhubarb and the Raspberry clearly, possibly Rosehip too but I don’t know what that is! I just mixed it with normal water and it was fantastic, I imagine it would be even better with sparkling water/lemonade! I NEED more of this!

  2. A very light delicious summery drink which isnt too sweet. I preferred it with soda streams sugar free lemonade and added a few berries and a dash of lime and a mint leaf and had a delicious summer cocktail! (This photo is not mine but looks like what mine would have if I had nice glasses instead of plastic kiddies cups at home lol)..

  3. i was a bit unsure of this flavour when i first read it. BUt once i opened the bottle and put some with a little bit of water. i was very suprised. I could taste the Rhubarb, and all i can say bout this is Yum Yum Yum. my children did not like this one. but i actually liked it with a bit of lemonade and a tiny bit of vodka. Oh my… so easy to drink and wow could drink a few of them hehehehe

Thanks again for the chance for trying this…

  4. Have to say I didn’t really like this one. I’m not the biggest rhubarb fan anyway but thought I would give it a go, but I didn’t think it had a huge flavour for one and unfortunately didn’t like it. I gave the bottle to my dad to try as he loves rhubarb, however he didn’t really like it either! Maybe it was the Rosehip flavour coming through that we did not like?!?! I won’t be buying this flavour again, however I will be trying some other ones as they are so handy for in the fridge for the kids! Love the tropical one 😊

  5. Yum Yum Yum!!! Was a bit sceptical cause rhubarb raspberry and rosehip doesn’t really sound appealing, But after tasting it – I am sold. Light, refreshing. Nice with cold water or lemonade. Will definitely be getting this flavour again.
