2017 marked the first year of Armageddon appearing at Tauranga and while it did seem small in comparison to other towns, I have to say that for the most part, I was impressed with the turnout. Like anything, it had teething problems but I’m guessing that the Tauranga event will grow bigger and stronger as each year goes pasts, and I’m looking forward to watching the progress.
As usual, Armageddon had a great list of celebrities including; Firefly’s Jewel State,Lost Girl’s Paul Amos, Legends of Tomorrow star Franz Drameh, Teen Wolf’s Max & Charlie Carver, The 100’s Richard Harmon and Sachin Sahel. The Flash’s Matt Letscher, Babylon 5’s Patricia Tallman and Highlander star Adrian Paul. Unfortunately we weren’t able to attend both days and when we went on the Sunday, it was a little harder than other events to get into a position to take photos.
For me, one of the things that really stands out whenever I go, is just how accommodating everyone is with the kids. This was my daughter Ayla’s first time attending and everyone was offering her the opportunity to have her photo taken with them as well as taking the time to talk to her. Being that all my little darlings have a little ‘geek’ in them, it was so great to see people encouraging the kids to interact in various ways..and my daughter left the event with a huge smile on her face, and ideas of what she now wants to create for herself…so a big thank you to all who took the time to make her feel special
All in all it was a GREAT event and there were a few people there that really just love to have fun with everything that is Armageddon
