  1. Charlotte ‘Charlie’ Silver has played tennis all her life but has never won a Grand Slam. An injury forces her out of the Wimbledon final in 2015 and she is forced to consider her future.
Her father had given Charlie her basic tennis coaching but Macey had taken over and got the 25 year old to Centre Court where she sustained a serious Achilles injury.
Waking from surgery Charlie thought, “I’m done. Finished. Like it or not, it’s time to retire, because there is no returning from this injury.”
However, she decides to sack Macey after Todd Feltener , a brutal aggressive coach, makes a pact with her to get her back on her feet to win a major.
The book takes the reader on this journey, into the competitive tennis circuit and the issues which surround the sport. Alcohol, drugs, relationships and sex, are explored as Charlie strives to reach her goal.
I would classify this as a Chick Lit book, something to take to the beach or read on a plane. It started off at a good pace but I felt it dragged somewhat in the middle and then the ending was a surprise although I felt this would be where it was heading, and then it seemed to be almost dismissed as unimportant. It does however, leave a perfect ending for the author to pick the story up and write another book, we will wait with anticipation.
The cover is bright and sparkling to encourage you to pick up the book and devour.
